Over the Thanksgiving break I sent in my Belmont University college application. Belmont is my absolute dream college it has the exact major I want to major in (Music Business). I hope to become a music publicist. The campus is absolutely beautiful and not to mention when I toured the campus I made two friends. We have decided that if we all get in we will be roommates. Both the girls I met I am still in contact with and have been accepted into Belmont. Besides the beautiful campus and buildings some of the alumni are some of the todays biggest name in country music such as: Brad Paisley, Trisha Yearwood, Josh Turner and Chris Young just to name a few.
As I was writing the essay Belmont requires you to write I was in shock in how hard I found self reflecting my life and what made me different and what made me who I am today. I ended up writing about how hosting many exchange students since I was 6 has shaped me into the person I am today. One of the best exchange students that shaped me into who I am is Sophie from Denmark who we hosted last year. Sophie and I became super close just like sisters. Our relationship did have challenges which I talked about. The one thing that I didn’t mention in the essay was that the same day Sophie had to go home my dad and I began our 12 hour drive to Nashville to actually visit Belmont The first hour was rough it was full of tears of sadness that Sophie’s year was over and she was going home yet full of happy tears that we are going to a state that could be where I reside for at least four years and full of tears due to laughing because with my dad and I both in the car you can’t ever go without laughing every 10 minutes.
Having the weight of sending my application off my shoulders feels great. Now the waiting begins to find out if I have been accepted. It will take about 2 weeks once the application, SAT score, transcript and guidance counselor recommendation letter gets sent in until I find out the results. Whatever happens I know it is for a reason, because things happen for a reason. But I am thinking positive and hoping for the best and that this happens in favor of what I REALLY want.
